Hello, students, and welcome to the Fall 2021 semester and a new academic year. We hope the transition back to in-person classes goes smoothly for you and that you have a great start to your classes. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind as you use Blackboard:
Unable to log in? | If you are unable to log into Blackboard, please see this guide to troubleshoot: Why can’t I log into Blackboard? Please note: As of August 16, students will be prevented from logging into Blackboard and MyUSC if you have not uploaded your vaccine documentation or exemption form to the student health portal (MySHR). Please visit USC’s COVID-19 Vaccination Program Policy FAQs for more information. |
Course not available? | Please review this help guide: Why isn’t my course in Blackboard? (Students) |
Zoom class meetings not showing up in Blackboard? | Are your class meetings not appearing in the “USC Zoom Pro Meeting” link in Blackboard? Make sure you are logged into your USC Zoom account. Here is a guide for more information: Why aren’t my Zoom class meetings in Blackboard? Please note: Some people have experienced intermittent errors when trying to access their Zoom meetings using any version of the Safari browser. We are working with the vendor to get this issue resolved. In the meantime, please use a recent version of Chrome (87+) and/or a private or incognito session. |
Ally for Students | ITS has launched a new Blackboard feature called Ally that allows you to download your course files in different formats. For more information, please see this guide: Student Ally Accessibility Tools |
Please update your browsers and your Zoom app! | To ensure the features in Blackboard work correctly, make sure you are using a supported browser by going to the Browser Checker. A list of supported browsers are available here: Supported Browsers. For Zoom, please make sure you have updated the app on your computer and/or mobile device. Please note: While Safari is listed by Blackboard as a supported browser, there are often functionality issues. As a best practice, please use updated versions of Chrome or Firefox, instead. |
